Teaching has always been a fundamental and hugely rewarding part of my work. I teach privately from my home in Hertfordshire, working with children and adults on both modern bassoon and historical bassoons and am also a visiting music teacher at Royal Masonic School for Girls.
My love of teaching is backed up by a wealth of experience teaching and coaching for organisations such as Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music (historical performance departments), Guildhall School of Music Junior Department, National Children’s Orchestras, Aldeburgh Young Musician, Big Double Reed Day, Malvern Winds and Irish Youth Baroque Orchestra.
Please drop me a message via the contact form if you would be interested in having lessons or hiring me to tutor.
Testimonial from a recent Bassoon Workshop Day;
“Cat was an excellent and interesting teacher. The time just seemed to fly by in each session, as she was so well prepared and organised, as well as such a superb player. … I thought her arrangements that we played together were very clever, giving everyone a chance to play an important role. Her comments on my own playing were very helpful in the masterclass - challenging and insistent, but not at all threatening - just what I need!”
